oh and on a serious note, al the ps3 will offer you over a 360 is a blu ray drive, but you can always buy the hddrive if you really want that.
technically they both produce the same quality graphics. The xbox has been about longer so the games will be better developed and Live is amazing, the ps3 version is utter rubbish at the moment

are you going to be buying any blu ray movies? have you checked the ps3 game line up and if so does it interest you?
if you just want a next gen console for playing games and thats it then the 360 is probably your best bet.
despite what people tel you, overall both consoles are about as powerful as each other, i suggest you have a quick browse on what games are coming out soon for the 2 consoles

actually 360 just edges it in performance terms but on the screen there is little between. So might as well go for the one with the better online play and cheaper

you can have a wired controller or wireless, i just have rechargable batterys in mine and they last for ages before needing a recharge. Yuo can buy a play and charge pack too.
you dont need any adapter to get online it comes with everything you need.
The HD drive is an external drive you can buy on top for another 100 quid or so, you can play hd dvds in it
