i personally wouldn't buy a connect3d card as i see them as the budget end, and had a few problems with them when i used to sell them - though things may have chnaged now - and i've been out of building computers for ages - rest of the spec looks fair decent...

Yeah, I had always thought that about their cards. But read a few reviews of them recently in amgs and have been nothing but great TBH.
Although that doesnt show how they might be over the long term!

nah no point - goto microdirect, scan, aria or europa - even buying on trade at microdirect with a £10k credit limit, discounts weren't that great for everyday things and cpu's were only like £15 cheaper, high end grpahics cards we'd be lucky to get £40 - £60 off - just wasn't worth it so sacked it in a few years back
** those prices are off retail - what public pay etc.....
am sodding off down south for a proper job now

very good spec, again I'm not sure about the graphics card, but seeing as you know they've got good reviews then fair dos.
Looks like your going for a silent system.
The samsung hard drives are quite quiet, the Spinpoint T range or whatever they call them.
Apparently intel are supposed to be cutting their cpu prices in april 22nd if you can wait that long.

nice spec, 6600chip is very overclockable, 3ghz +
If it was me though i would choose a cheaper a case under £100 and buy a better graphics card or Faster RAM.
Some nice cases for £80 etc so would allow you to spend an extra £80 on a graphics card

Nice board, although id consider the Gigabyte 965-DS3 if your never planning on crossfire in the future. Its stupidly good for overclocking!
Processor: Intel Core 2 Due E6600 - £190
CPU Cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro - £16
Memory: Crucial 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-4200C4 (CT2KIT12864AA53E) - £103
Swap this for Geil PC6400 800MHz for only a little extra
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)
Graphics Card: Connect3d X1950XT - £140
GPU Cooler: Zalman VF900-CU - £24
Hard Drive 1: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB - £60

Has to be that case. Mainly because I am in love with it () and also because it has the room and set-up to go water cooled without too much hassle in the future.

RAM is def something IM going to look into more, as I mentioned int he first post it was my main concern.
I have read a few reviews about that that say its excellent for overclocking yet a little shite as standard, which is perfect and also means a low price, but might opt to spend a little more and get something that has more overclocking potential.

Trust me
Im using one with a e6600 and ive had it running at 3.4 without any issues, just a little too hot for my liking, so its sitting at 3.0 now. Computer hasnt been switched off or crashed in over a month

Only thing that bothers me is that it doesnt support multiple graphics cards (which could possibly be an issue in the future), and it doesnt support on-board wireless.

Yea thats the only thing, i was never planning on using SLi or Crossfire which is why this board was ideal for me.
I was put off by SLi after a friend went down that route, not worth all the problems he gets imo. Id rather just have 1 decent card
