rang them up this morning spoke too this nice lass. said she was sending a msg too the ppl who was dealing with it and was going too PERSONALY ring me back...
has she fook...
been on hold for 1hour now. no1 answering. i no they r there till 120
im getting so annoyed with it now. there customer care is sh1t3, grrrrrr!

no dial tone on a adsl modem.

i nearly signed up with Tesco broadband but went for Pipex instead. Just as well cos your story is about the 3rd i've heard in the last month from an unhappy Tesco customer.

indeed been on fone for 1 hours 2 nite...SO FAR. and 2hours 45 in totaly form other nites. soo unhappy atm. its all been activated. on my modem the adsl light is flashing like its not been activated or it cant find it

hmmm , is it a BT Voyager modem?
When you get through to TESCO ask them to do a Woosh test on the line as its a possiblity that the modem cannot Sync with the exchange, have you checked the filters , if not change them for new ones as filters are cheaply made and theres so many produced that are faulty.
also try making a manual DUN connection use your username and password and dial 0,38 and see if that connects.

its a thomson modem aka speedtouch
0,38 aint tried that.. but that wont work if there no "dialtone" ...
tried making a DUN no diff. TESCO cant doo the woosh test they get BT todo it :/
checked all filters.. moved the pc too the master box disconected everything so it jsut on its own.. no diff!
NOT HAPPY!

just because it says no dial tone , dont belive it, basicly you r modem cannot sync with your local exchange, can you borrow a router from anyone?

process of elimination , so you can rule out the modem being faulty , it may not sync because of a problem between your line and the exchange, Woosh will probally return an inconclusive report on the line then TESCO can log with BT and they can run further tests.

tesco have supposed to of already spoke with BT... they said theyed ring me.. ha no
ok jamesy im out in the morning (btw lauras crashed her car) so itll be about 1ish?

Ring BT on 150 and ask for Wholesale and get them to run a test, they probally wont speak with you but worth a try.

looking at you first post i recon the line is still in provisioning , current activation lead time for BT is 8 days.

well tesco say its activated. got an emailf rom them saying it was, and when i foned them they say it was. (i think that makes sence)
i regestered with tesco on the 5th... so its been 2weeks ish
