Not sure about 42" or Plasma but for 40" Samsung LE40M87BDX is very hard to beat for £750

yeah, i thought i could recommend you an alright site to buy from, but it turns outs i can't they have afew 42" LCDs but they have more plasma's in that size. but then i also remembered that we'd had some trouble over credit card payments, which mainly involved us thinking they'd cloned our card

People arge it butI would ALWAYS have a Plasma over an LCD the difference in quality is very noticable IMO.

We have a plasma in our main room and this illustrates how inferior the other three LCD's in the house are. (and they aint cheap LCD's wither at that)

IMO my LCD is better than my parents Plasma. There isn't much in it but I'd rather watch my TV then there's. Neither are budget either.

I'm sure it'll be alright.

I bought a 42" Plasma earlier this year by LG, it's not the worlds greatest but for the price I paid I'm not going to complain and I haven't seen anything better for the money yet.

Thats got exactly the same resolution as the 17" square monitor I have infront of me, except spread over 42 widescreen inches.
If she ever wants to watch and HD stuff thats rubbish.
