What's the difference in a Sportex & Ashley exhaust system? i know that they are both budget brands, but i mean the sound, build quietly, fitment etc

ashly is bloody loud, only made out of mild steal (which has been treated so it dont rust as quick) and they come in 2 types, black tip or chrome, if its a black tip one it means there is little to no baffles and its a competition exhaust. if your going for wake the nabours up noise then i would go for this, sportx is pritty much the same just uses better wadding and they arnt as loud.

135 quid for a bbox, dont think thats is exspensive, use that with your powerflow system

Go to powerflow and ask them to cut off the current tip and weld on a 3" tip for you.
If you are happy with the rest of the system, then just get that bit changed.

yep thats true they are a very good fit..
if your wanting something new then i would go for the ashly chrome tip ones for now as they are not very expensive at all and they do sound nice if not quite loud.
beware tho the x14xe will have a very annoying rasp i found when i had a straight through center section and big back box.
got a janspeed center and rear now with a 3.5" tail piece in my view this looks to big still, i will be going for a oval when i have the turbo engine fitted

sportex are quieter than ashley, due to silencer's being alot bigger than the ashley one's

yet ashlys do fit better and are made better,
i have a sportx exhaust manifold and i will never again get one they are crap.. should ahve bought a ashly as they are cheaper and they have the hego/lambda sensor in the right place insted of sitting 5/6 mm away from the radiator with the PAS pipe sitting above/on it
