If you had a computer that wasnt the worst thing ever, was running XP home, and the HD was only 60GB full (if that matters) but ran slow as fuck.

What could be done to make it run faster where it is actually operateable (sp) without getting bored waiting for something like internet explorer to load

Oh and the fan doesnt work if that matters which makes it overheat and cut out

Thanks

Is there more than one type? Or is it all the same and will fit regardless?

theres lots of types, open the case, look at the side of the ram it will say something like

DDR333 184pin

post what it says and we'll tell you what to buy.

if you cant find the sticker on the ram (and its not hard its only got two sides make a note of your motherboard while the case is open and we can work out what you need form that

Haimsey

You can run this to check your memory and available upgrade options. You can then search for the cheapest on the usual sites, dabs, ebuyer etc..

Ive got it apart Dusty as fuck

Got the fan working, so thats all good. - Where do i put an extra fan? Are upgrade fans just more powerfull?

Disk draw doesnt work still, it has power and operates, but it is struggling and FAILING to open the disk tray - Is it buggered?

RAM - think ive found this, its in a long strip, but i dont see how i will be able to fit more than one stick in

Ill try to get pics in a bit.

Put your PC back together and run this:

http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpuz_147.zip

It's cpu-z it will tell exactly what's in the box including the exact type of RAM you have and then you can buy some more.

However that looks like DDR to me, so buy some more DDR ram, lowest latency and 400Mhz, bout £40 for 2 gigs I think.

the fans will push the same amount of air in general, bigger fans = more air, but you need more space ofc
