dont drill loads though, sound like a chav boy racer with a 1.2 and k&n booting it through town
and as said, drill on the underside and left hand side(wing side) to prevent heat soak

Exactly what I was gonna say.
I've had 2 drilled airboxes and the one I have now has big holes in and sounds much deeper.

if you are going to drill holes in the bottom half of the air box make sure it is the side that faces the inner wing and get a cold air feed to them then there is a less chance of getting heat soak

then when you have drill the holes in the bottom half of the airbox remember to re set the ecu, disconnect the battery over night

Why would you need to reset the ECU?
I didn't and have no problems.
No cold air feed neither and I don't get heat soak.
