I remember my mate having the one on the right in 1998! I also don't know why he had one at the time as only his Dad and a select few of his work mates had mobiles! Claimed he needed it so the pub he worked for could contact him

At work we still rely heavily on the 5110, these things look like bricks but are solid as fuck and where I work they need to be rugged.
The amount of times my guv'nor has dropped it, or thrown it across the desk and it still works is unreal - and only with a couple of scratches or marks on it!
Don't build 'em like they used to

The 5110 is great. I also remember my m8 when pissed would always chuck it down the road. It would explode, battery and fascia off etc.. He would just put it together and carry on using it .
Try that with an iphone or N95

The phone on the right was the first phone I owned, my mum won it in a raffle. I don't even think you could text on it? I remember being really big headed n cocky about it, I was going round my mates and I rang his mum to see if I could take my phone charger to use there, how sad

Didn't get my first phone until I was 21 in 2001! Was a 3310 and it would have been a decent phone had it not locked up after every sent text!

This was my first phone... Me and my grandad shared it.
It was proper -- if you got a text, it'd be one line and slowly scroll across the screen... and you could only send 50-character messages. Oh and only store 8 text messages.
I got it out the other day randomly, and found some bird I was texting at my school back when I was 10 or so. My god, I was a horny little back then too.

I had a 5110 with a flashing blue/red aerial and a lightning fascia. Thought it was fantastic at the time.
