i think he means standard induction system, i dont think anyone is stupid enough to leave the air cleaning system off completely, apart from stock cars etc (may mate used to race minis and he didnt hav a filter although the engine did get stripped down each time)

85, an exhaust only helps when theres other things like head work on the engine. otherwise it will do little

Yeah i agree with jl400. To get a good power and torque gain you need to improve how the engine breaths. The more air/fuel you get in and get out of the exhaust when its been burnt the better. You need your head porting a s/s exhaust manifold and something like a mantzel powerbox,or simaler inlet manifold. Then if you get it set up on a rolling road and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator you will have about 115 BHP altogether, maybe a bit more.

I have a 1.2 8V with K&N induction kit and Piper back box, standard of 45BHP, I think I will be hitting around 300BHP now with these simple mods.

I say first thing to do is a high lift cam, spoken to the guy that tunes the Vauxhall rally cars by me, tunes corsa engines for a living and swears by em. Way more than ur s/s system altogether i bet.
