Ive been looking for a "corsa B" for a while now and decided to get a 1.4 Sri as it has 90bhp as standard (a big boost from my current 60bhp punto)

I have just bought a Cosa 1.4 Sport, it is still 16v just like the Sri, my question is, is there any difference performance wise between the "sport" and the "sri"? Or is just a matter of trim etc?

Also, can you get the same performance parts for the sport that you can for the sri?

there the same car basically...they stopped making the SRI model in 98 I think??? and started to make the sport...then stopped making the sport again in 2001 I think again?? then started making the SRI again...in essence they're the same car just different badging etc.

and am I right in saying that the SRI models didnt have leccy windows? where as the sport did...

some sri's had the full eledtric pack, it was an optional extra on the range, the sport came with the leccy pack as standard. personally i'd rather have a 16v SRi than the sport cause there is loads of sports round by me but only me with 16v SRi!!! nicer colour too!!!

Ah I always wondered why mine has no pot but my mates does.
He hasn't got power steering and I do!
I just stick my Poppy Coral down there, cos it looks shit above the clock/date/temp or on the dash anyway.

The little well in front of the gearstick has nothing to do with wether you have PAS its wether you have an airbag hence why no sports have the little well but most sris do.

all Corsa 16v engines were lotus tuned.

1600 16v was de-tuned from 150bhp to 109bhp. Different cams n different inlett manifold.

The 16XE engine is in fact one of the best engies vauxhall have made. If we look at what performance gains can be made from the 1.6, it can be pushed well over 150bhp without the need for strengthening. When it was being designed, it was shown to have around 155bhp, which is beyond even the 20xe engine found in Calibras, Cavaliers and Astras. Vauxhall did not want there new 1.6 powerplant to exceed that of the 2.0, which was getting rave reviews of the time. Vauxhall restricted the 16xe engine through the inlet manifold, which is why changing to a lexmaul or mantzel item can be found to have large gains for little money.

Nearly. They also restricted the engine because the Emmissions, fuel consumption and the way the power was delieverd wasn't right for a normal road car. It gave the power to harshly hence milder cams were used.

I dont really see the point of the lexmaul inlett manifold. The air still travels pretty much the same distance as the original inlet manifolds. Where as the Mantzel and Velos tube feed directly into the head.
