Mmmmkay...
First tank I got (actually wasnt my first, I actually had a 5x2x2 150Gal tank but no pics of that), was a Rio400. Had it on its original stand for a year or so but got fed up with it not matching anything else. Decided to paint the trim of the tank white and then cut apart an existing piece of furniture to make a new stand. This is the only decent pic Ive got uploaded on here with the stand only part done...
In it I had my Serrasalmus Manueli piranha, which at one stage was the largest known in Europe and probably worth about £500. The fucker got internal parasites though and died before anything could be done
The tank hasnt really been set up since then as lost interest in the hobby!
But Ive had this tank sat in my garage for a few years now. I never set it up as was living in my apartment and wouldnt of been able to look after any fish. With being back here to work now though I can look after the fish. Im in the process of setting it all up now (working on it the last 2 weeks) and intend to have a project thread of sorts up soon enough...
Its 7ft x 2.5ft wide x 2ft deep.

Was she on about your fish tank or your ego, because she said your cock was small and stumpy.

Have spent all of today cleaning it seems it was covered in about 2yrs of dust and grime. Also had to smash one of the supports out to fit the huge 3D background in. This pic doesnt show how far it comes out into the tank, but its a good 2ft easily at some points.

One gallon is approx 8.35lbs, so the tank that is in my apartment is 120Gal and therefore approx 1000lbs.
TBH, the building is steel frame construction with concrete floors, if it cant handle that weight then I dont want to be staying in the building let alone under that tank.

the floor slabs will be way over designed but a 1 ton point load they wont be designed for
whether steel frame or not
id be trying to position it as close to something bearing load as possibile tbh

Ive had bigger tanks upstairs in a standard wooden floored house without any problems what so ever, if a concrete floor cant handle this (which it has btw for the last 3yrs) then Id be amazed.

yes im sure it will be fine within a steel framed concrete floored building
surprised you didnt experience cracking with a timber floor though tbh

Nah, I had a 150Gal in my room at home (approx 1250lbs) for about 2yrs. Have since had all the floor up in that room for various reasons and not a problem where it was.

Hmmm, not sure Liverpool way. Best two Ive been to are Pier Aquatics in Wigan, and BAS (Britain's aquatic superstore) in Bolton.
