Up til now ive assumed the role of dishwasher. Ive never had a dishwasher, parents never had one, ive never used one & know nothing about them.
But in the new house theres a space for one so I pretty much need to fill the cut out with one.
Keeping in mind I dont have a clue about dishwashers I looked on the obvious websites & found a nice Kenwood one, stainless steel, & had a handle which matched our kitchen units, was about to order then went on a website & 5 out of 6 people had gave it 1 star out of 5 saying it was crap, badly made, leaked & not to buy it.
Can anyone recommend one?

Mine is a Bosch on my parent's recommendation. Generally the quietest and neither theirs or mine have given us any problems.

Couldn't you get the company who built the house to install one they might use in the bigger houses? as they might be able to get you one which looks just like a cupboard from the front?

If you're doing that, get them to supply a door and buy the appliance yourself. Builder appliances aren't always the best quality and certainly aren't a good deal.
I got a touch panel halogen hob, 1600 spin 5kg washing machine and said Dishwasher for less than the price of the standard fit stuff which wasn't as good.

Not arsed about it not being intrigrated. Kitchens built now anyway & were in. Builders would have charged a fucking fortune for a sub-standard one as the chief say's!!
Dont care to spend too much on one, say 250-300?
Bosch you say....i'll have a looksy

Ours is a mini one from Argos, Haier is the brand name, £180. Does the trick and has had no problems whatsoever, although we only use it 4 times a week
Depends on your budget really

No stainless steel bosch ones for under £300.
Might just get the Kenwood one that leaks to fill the hole & continue to wash them by hand!!

Folks have had Bosch (wasn't cheap if i remember but was a while ago) lasted for about 4yrs then went bang. Now have a Miele, think it was around 400/500 from John Lewis about 9/10 years ago, still going strong, infact i don't think it's ever caused problems or been repaired.

Its not difficult - just get a door and attach it to it. There's a tiny bit more faffing to make sure it all lines up nice but only like winding screws to adjust the height.

I've got an integrated one in my kitchen - I've used it twice - unless you've got the lads/family round for dinner etc it's pretty pointless for just me but it is a good piece of kit - it's a bit noisy though

I've got mine all intergrated only because i wanted a dishwasher and wouldn't have been able to fit one in and my washer was fucked anyway which has finally given up this evening. Also, they will vent the tumble dryer for me so i don't need to arse about doing that.
With white goods i tend to have a look online and see what you can get for your money / fit in the gap. Then set a price i want to spend & can afford. If i really want something i'll generally just buy it anyway such as my spending spread this weekend
German stuff is generally good. My washer and tumble dryer are AEG and 7 years old and only the washer has just decided to die.

Try marks colin, they've been £50 cheaper on all the washer dryers i've been looking at, not sure why you need to call them for the dishwasher tho
