Bundle Box if anyone is interested.
Cost me less than what it would if I had waited until May to order in the UK (its been put back to early May pre-order in the UK if your not aware).
Looking forward to it

I'm waiting until may for mine, I can wait the extra month for a massive phone that can't be used for phonecalls.

Browsing the net, playing simple games etc
Its better than my iPhone for both the above, and more convienant than my PC sat upstairs in my bedroom. The iPad will be kept mainly in my lounge.
Is it essiental? Do I actually need it? No
I have the money, so I thought id treat myself.

Could this replace for example a laptop that is only used for browsing the internet, facebook, getting emails etc? Can you use it for MSN messenger? Install things to it?
I want something like this in the front room and to keep my old laptop for Office based tasks.
edit - and will it be like everything else Apple where you have to pay for every single extra little bit you could want? Or will you be able to use free aps and stuff?

Danny iirc you can only do one thing at a time on it so really, you're FAR better off with a laptop.

They've got some multitasking going on now.
There are free apps available but they are about £15 each otherwise and it'll be obsolete in a year and still doesn't do flash.

Most of the stuff you need are included. If its basically just used for browsing the web then you'll never really need to buy any apps for it.
It'll be a far better experience than using a laptop even without multitasking. You can still run multiple web pages etc.
Will be interesting to see what its like when OS 4 becomes available for it.

I know I'm like a broken record.
Can I ask how it'll be a better experience than a laptop though?
I can't see how something that can't do as much, including browsing everything on the web, can be better?

Being able to prod and poke stuff is so much better for me - obviously not for you, but it seems that for most people the touch aspect is twice as good as using a crappy trackpad on a laptop.
Having used a touch for the internet at home for quite a long time I really don't see the lack of flash as a massive problem. Not that many of the sites I use have flash on them - literally two or three and even then its not a major part of the site, only for loading video and stuff.

What about typing, on forums for instance, that's at least half of my browsing.

I don't find it a problem, although on the touch the keys close can be an issue sometimes. Even then it corrects any words you get wrong and even inserts punctuation
Will be better on a bigger screen.

My biggest spelling mistake is typing 'fir' instead of 'for'

Why would you want a mouse when you can simply use your finger to touch a link?

I took 'Pocket-Lints' quiz to see if I should buy one, it said based on my answers I shouldnt because I will only be disappointed, bearing in mind I own nothing of Apple, and nor does the missus, apart from her Ipod mini thing (the belt clip, no screen??) which she doesnt use anyway

Each to their own, but I hate having a laptop on my lap or worse sitting at a desk. And I already use a touch for 75% of my time online at home.
Bigger screen on an ipad will be great, although the price will be a big deciding factor. I'll have to see when they finally let us know before I decide whether I'll actually get one.

more so keyboard, but i still prefer using a mouse, so generally we have concluded, using a touch keyboard isnt as good, no flash support, lower res screen, so what exactly is better about the experience?
