Wifi hotspot is a tad pointless tbh. Just makes 3G wireless so slow etc

Does it work for you? It's one of those things that people always say that the iPhone is rubbish because it doesn't feature it so I guess they had to add it, eventually.

It's fine for browsing the net, etc, even youtube can be ok. I've used it through my HTC when away from home. It's just not cut out for gaming and big downloads that's all. Not something I'd want to pay extra for tho particularly.

I'm preparing for an argument on the phone with O2. If you buy an Android phone from them that's compatible with 2.2, does it automatically update from the previous release to 2.2 or do you have to fuck about? Also, do you get charged for WiFi tethering? I'm pretty pissed off about being treated like a mug because there are times when being able to use the iPhone hotspots would be useful, but like fuck I'm paying £7 a month.

I have FREE wifi hotspot using an app from installous called Handy Light.
You have to set up a 1337 proxy but it works a treat.
Fuck paying for shit and shit

I live in High Wycombe now but The Pinewood Hotel is in the middle of nowhere.
I used to go to an Indian restaurant in Burnham:

I go to Bombay Dream in High Wycombe now.
The bestest best Indian I've been to is The Grand Durbar in Leicester.

I just don't see the point myself, maybe if you have a laptop but then a wire isn't going to much trouble? I'm not saying they shouldn't put it on, just seems a tad pointless to me.

It's just a bonus that it's wireless, having to carry the wire around is a pain. Bluetooth is too short range if you need to get on the net in stupid places like the Isle of Harris as you need to put your phone somewhere tactical

No suprises there then! They charged extra for the original tethering option (probably still do).
I think it's a bit cheeky though.. especially now that the data bundles are capped. I could half understand when they were unlimited and people were hammering them with a tether.
Considering its a standard feature of the phone, what exactly are O2 doing to justify the charging?
