also i have a vogel swivel one holding my plasma up, but the led tv is so light that i can't imagine a cheap one having trouble fixing it into the studs.

My TV is held to the wall with a couple of radiator brackets
Cheap ones are fine, TV's dojn't weigh that much. Just use decent fixings

yeah wouldnt use the ones that come with it.
would it be worth going through to the brick (outside wall) or just screw straight into the stud?

Depends on the weights of the TV but usually screwing into studs is sufficient.

2 round aluminium bits into the wall, wire bit screws into the top 2 VESA mounting holes on the TV, the bottom 2 are just spacers.
It then hangs up like a picture.
Gets it really tight to the wall.
My TV has been hanging for about 10 months now and I've not had any problems.

Also, my bedroom TV, which is really heavy compared to my new one, that's held up using 2 bolts onto a stud with the cheapest bracket I could find, it's only sheet metal.

is that vivomounts one suitable for a 32'' or is 40'' the lowest?

It'll be based on what size the VESA mount is. The bigger TV's the holes will be further apart so the wire will be longer, if you used it with closer holes it would hang down too far.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ULTRA-SLIM-LED-TV-WALL-MOUNT-BRACKET-32-36-40-46-50-55-inch-SAMSUNG-LG-SONY-/120849168752?pt=UK_Home_Garden_LivingRoom_TV_Furniture&hash=item1c232bf970#ht_2212wt_1396
That says it's 100% compatible with 32 and up.
What TV have you got, i'll see if I can find out how far apart the holes are, or measure it.

Actually, wait a minute, I'm being thick.
If the holes are closer you just make the round mounts further apart
