What has everyone got?
Preferably stuff that serves a purpose and not just a gimmick.

Light switches, fire and lamps are remote control.
I'm interested in doing a bit more but money/time has stopped me so far.
Always wanted remote blinds.

Light switches are IR touch dimmers, just the ones you get from B&Q except I got them off the internet for cheaper.
Lamps and fire are a set of remote plug in switches from lidl, 20 quid for 4 and the remote.
This sort of thing.

Snap, saw them in B and Q then had a hunt on the web.
Programmed it to my TV remote.

I've also got a weather station with wind speed and rainfall, that's quite gadgety.

When I've got my own place I'll make every room have it's own little server so I can control the lights, blind position and heating all from my iPad

I would love a fully automated house, I started with a plan a few months ago to use some 1 wire stuff and have it all over the house, just starting with temperature and working my way up.
Being lazy got in the road so I've still got the bits waiting to start it.
