Thought it'd be a good idea to have a thread similar to the car version, but for houses.
Yesterday I put up a wooden blind and painted the kitchen. It had been a mixture of bare walls and red paint for over a year. Whilst I was away, my dad plastered the walls, so I could finally get some colour on them that doesn't look like a 1970's porn set.

And today I took down the mould covered fabric blind in the bedroom and fitted another wooden blind. These are from John Lewis and appear to be pretty good quality with 50mm wide slats, rather than the cheaper slimmer ones that I'm not too keen on.
Mouldy fabric one.
Middle class John Lewis one.

This evening pulled the bath and radiator out the bathroom, last of the tiles off the wall and made a start getting the adhesive off. Moved the water feeds ready for stuff to go in, hopefully at the weekend.

Put my Samsung UHD tv in place, added the freesat connection and also terrestrial, hooked up the PS4 but not played any games yet, i have ordered no mans sky so waiting for that to arrive, which is why i upgraded my tv, it was a damp humid night in late July, i was commuting home from work in my tdi audi sport and the thought occurred to me i could buy a new tv, i held onto that thought for the rest of the drive home and when i arrived home it began. The journey of hunting out a tv on cyberspace, reading reviews and specifications. After a week of debate and turmoil i settled on a samsung and went for a 40" tv. It had dawned on me during the search for a tv that the width of the stand was going to be my limiting factor as i'm not one to make holes in walls.
Fast forward to yesterday and the tv arrived at my office, the delivery email said Hilda had signed for it, which was a concern as no one here by that name. So i promptly ventured to reception to be greeted by a large slim box propped up against a wall.
Once the rear seats of my audi sport had been folded flat i was able to fit the tv into the rear of the car and transport it home, whereby upon my arrival i set about installing my lovely new piece of gadge.
Part 2 coming soon...

Yesterday I took up 2 tiles from my kitchen floor. Why I hear you ask, why? Because they had cutouts for a decorative surround to the old oven, and now I'm moving the oven there were just two massive holes in the tiles. So I spent £2.39 on this tool from screwfix
Are carefully hacked away at the grout between the tiles. Had to cut the ply underneath it as well as I wasn't separating tile from ply but it worked well, no damage to surrounding tiles:
Popped down Wickes, new bit of ply to go under there, need to get an sds drill bit to put some new holes in the concrete.

Just stopped for lunch. Managed to get the bearers and drainage in, bath feet modified to fit around the waste pipes and all levelled up and attached to the wall nice and tight. Going to add some corner supports just to add a little more support to the front edge mostly as I'm a heavy Fuck and don't want it moving anywhere
While she's asleep I'm going to be maccano'ing the basin and toilet bits together and make a template for the ply floor.

I looked up the price of replacing my fence. I was shocked but then it is 24m needed. Managed to find a cheaper place tonight so may go and do a buy tomorrow

Cheers. When we moved in there were no doors at all I remember the first couple of winters being absolutely freezing
