Hi u lot i got a Corsa sport 1.4 16V 1997 P reg with 17s and pipercross induction kit i seem to get around 11 secs for 0-60 and only been 105mph top speed didn't have much space to see if i could have got faster but do these seem right to u lot? ive seen the factory stats for my car and they say 0-60 is 10.5 secs and top speed 112mph i thought my car would have been faster than factory 0-60 with the pipercross? perhaps its cuz im a pants driver eh lmao.

your 17's will make you loose some top end plus a bit of acceleration aswell so thats probably your problem mate.

induction kits realy dont do much for corsas 0-60, and 17s sure slow it down, top speed shud be higher than that on 17s

in theory, but a little 1.4 16v doesn't have the power or torque to pull he wheels round to a higher top speed.

If it does increase top end you wouldn't know as the speedo would read slower.

thats all crap!!! i got a p reg corsa sport matey!!! i have had 17" 13" and now 15" in 1 week!!!

When driving on 17" alloys the car seems to be less stable and dont reach no where near the top end to what the standard 13" do. also you loose acceleration i was doin around 11 and now i have 15" im doin nearly less than 10!!!!

I would suggest 15" on a corsa as it wont bounce around as much on top end etc. and you will feel safer!!!! i do

its cus 15" alloys are the same size as 13" standards in size!!!! with tyres etc.!!! i can hit 115, but having yours lowered makes a massive differnce top end

isnt that coz of air resistance and all that jaz.before being lowered i got 123.lowering also helps the handling a lot a lot. and then the standard hardened shocks help a bit!

ahhh thanks for that link then leon_in_uk according to it my speedo is telling me incorrect speeds with having 17" alloys so therefore when my speedo says 105mph i am actually roughly doing 112mph and when i reach 55-56mph i am really doing 60mph which would obviously alter my 0-60 time i will also have to make sure i go slower around speed cameras or when the cops are around eh.

At 105mph your speedo will be overreading, probably by 5-10%, sooo, taking this and your 17's into account, your speedo will probably be reading spot on.

there is so much confusion in this thread. Listen, 17's below 60-70mph will make a negligable difference to incorrect speedo readings, perhaps 1-2mph. If that. CasperAC, i think your speedo is very inaccurate to be reading 125. More like 110-115 MAX.

when i put my 15" wheel up against my 13" wheel the 15" was slightly smaller, thats with 195/45/15 tyres, dunno what the standard tyre size was tho, but they were the proper size
