Ive been thinking about this lately, then with a few deadlock topics on here i thought a bit more, is it really worth it? i just got deadlocking on my car.
I was wanting smooth colour coded handles so i rang up my place an told them what i wanted, then i had a conversation about what i could have, i settled on a delocked passenger side with a smoothed lock area passenger handle and a vectra driver side handle with a deadlock.
i was told that thieves dont usually bother with deadlocked cars cos they know they cant get in them too easily, and with there no longer being a lock on the passenger side they would just look for an easier car.
So, do you think deadlockings worth it?

deadlocks are really good
good test is
wind your window down, get out of the car and lock it with the dead locks on
then while pulling & holding the doorpin up, try opening the door - hey priesto it opens
hence why car theives bend the b pillar of the door to gain access to your corsa

jsut tried that and with deadlocking on it didnt pop up, magic!

My remore central locking on my alarm doesn't turn the barrel onto deadlock. I only ever use them in seriously dodgy areas where I have to put the key in and turn the barrel myself.
I was thinking of just getting delocked Vectra handles anyway.

So if you got delocked handles how can you deadlock it? cant you get it to do it automatically when you put the alarm on?

thats why if i was going to fit central locking, i wouldnt waste my money on remote locking, as it defeats the whole object of deadlocks, unless you are willing to spend lots more to have it all work.
with normal key central locking, you put the key in anyway

how do you activate the deadlocks on a corsa as i dont know. do you just turn the key passed the lock position.

On the driver's door, you just turn the key 90 deg. to your left, you will know your doors have been deadlocked as the hole for the key will be horizontal (ie. like this "---") as opposed to vertical (ie. like this "|").

Yeah i am getting a new clifford alarm. It will control my central locking. i asked about deadlocking but it can't control that. So what i am going to do is remove the Door pins and get vectra rear door handles.
It does discorage thiefs but i read on a few posts is what they do is drill into the door to brake the lock or cut the handle out completely.
Which made me think that i could possibly put a thick piece of metal between the locking mechanism and the door panel. but i guess if they want to get into your car they will and the more you try and protect. The more damage they do getting in

u pull & hold the door pin up then just open the door
and dont be a pansy when pulling it, just pull as hard as possible

Deadlocks, the gits that broke into mine a year a go didnt even flinch at the deadlocks. They just shoved a screwdriver through the metal door skin just below the handle and poped it open!! I'd say its even easier and a lot quieter than going through a window too...

yeah they are crafty. Thing is how can we protect against this screwdriver trick. maybe we would have to do what i said, put thick layer of metal between the lock and the skin of the car

Well on repair I got them to weld the thickest plate behind the skin as possible but I doubt it will have much effect in the future AND i have a 5 door!!  The things that really deter I think are external proxy's and knock sensors, the car can alarm before they even gain entry but if they are gonna take it, they are gonna take it. Mine got broke into outside the local cinema, but they took NOTHING, either they were disterbed or they were going to take the WHOLE car I think leaving your car and catching the bus is prob the safest bet, and now I always park my car in secure car-parks (if I can get in the things cos im lowered 80mm!)

just a thought on the remote deadlocking thing. if you have an alarm with a second output ( eg boot pop) use that to deadlock the car. dont some of the cars there have remote deadlocking as std?

do all corsas have deadlocking?
still don't know how to activate it.
i can only turn my key 45degs to the left to lock.
I can't turn it any further.

i have just fitted a microscan centrol locking kit to my N reg corsa B.
will this is still have deadlocking? and also im going to wire it up to my alarm so it locks when i set my alarm, will this still deadlock???????

nope, i have the microscan, it just operates the door pins, i had mine wired to my alarm for a tenner at an alarm place

just done this now the alarm wont come on and central locking doesnt work whats broken, looked at all wires n struff still connected? p.s sorry to bring back old post but just spent £60 on new remote for locking!!!

lol this is an old post. was reading a post and thought it sound like what i had done. then looked at the sig and realised it was me. What i have now is passenger and driver side pins removed. So they can't see door pins and hopefully won't bend the door to gain access cos it costs alot to repair. i'd rather they smash the glass if they are nobs and want to brake in.

broster you got Toad alarm? heard they can be setup to do it i think.
