No but everyone knows sim free phones are mega bucks.
But sometimes it works out cheaper to buy sim free with some of the good sim only tarrifs out there.

So I pay 6*£20 to buy myself out (£120)
er yes - you signed up to a long contract. Why should they let you upgrade for free? What do they get out of it? Think your self lucky there is any offer at all. When the 3GS was released there was no early upgrade offer at all.
I don't get why so many people in contract moan. When you all took out the contract you knew full well a new phone would be out in less than a year yet you still went for a contract. If you don't want to be tied down go for PAYG.
Muppet.
I took a 18 month contract (the shortest possible) last year when the new one was released. Hence it's the situation you're always going to end up in if you get the latest phone.
- Secondly, the 3G when it came out was subsidised quite heavily, so the phone didn't cost much / people could upgrade from the 2G to 3G for no cost. THIS IS WHY people were not allowed to upgrade from 3G to 3GS - as they didn't pay much for the phone.
I paid my £189 for my 3GS and £35 / month for the last 12 months. I don't expect a free phone. I just expect to be able to pay another £189 and move across to the new handset.

you wont get discounts and deals and freebies with iPhones. Short of a free case/ half price dock.
Apple sell thier products at a set price, UK wide. They don't need to discount as they will have no problem selling for full price. Just look at Ipods, wherever you buy from price will vary by a £1 or so.
also, second the motion of Rob Quads. The handset is subsidised by the contract, if you haven.t finished it then you haven't finished paying for the handset they gave you last time, so whats in it for them? They are a business afterall

A micro sim is just a normal sim with the edge cut off anyway.
Yup, you can even get micro sim cutters that will cut the edges off.
Shame about the visual voicemail on simplicity
Edit - It looks like you can get a iPhone Simplicty tariff which includes visual voicemail - http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/simplicity/iphone/1_month

I currently have a samsung tocco ultra on contract, £35 per month, the contract runs out in Oct, but I can upgrade 3 months in advance.
I want to get the 4G as soon as it comes out, so will I have 2 run 2 contracts?

No he didn't get that far through his pitch, just said if you're buying sim free to get it from america as they will retail for £150 less, like I say I don't know how much truth is in it.

Exactly.. Well done O2, good business that. If you want the latest tech you pay for it. If you didn't like it go PAYG..but then you will moan it costs too much won't you

sounds like a bellend if you ask me.
I would have asked to speak to his supervisor and then asked his boss why he's bullshitting.
