tbh, most of my time spent on the net is at work/home where its wifi, so I cant see myself getting through 500mb.
I am tempted by the 12m simplicity tho.

Not yet, they are probably waiting for another network or apple to release a price before they do!

Only because of AT&T's network restrictions, Apple are pushing for FaceTime to be used on 3G networks. As for bandwidth, current rough estimates are anything between 617kps to 2mbps which is roughly 30mins (@2mbps) of FaceTime with a 500mb limit.

^^+ the wifi jailbreak hack will be available on the very first day allowing you to use facetime on 3G.

True, although i doubt it'll work that well as networks aren't that consistent with data throughput which probably the main reason why Apple have limited it to WiFi (that and network data caps). Would be interesting to see if they link FaceTime with iChat for video calling.

Tbh the video of Facetime looks bit jumpy via Wifi, I can't imagine it being any good on 3g anyway.

Just had a guy Call me from o2 to try and get me on contract, he said he shouldn't be telling me this but theyve had info it's goin to retail at £750 on Payg. Probs just bullshitting though cus I was I wasn't biteing!
sounds like a bellend if you ask me.
I would have asked to speak to his supervisor and then asked his boss why he's bullshitting.
Best of it was, he reminded me the call was recorded before he started, i remembered when i worked on the phone i would get get sacked for lieing to customers.
his price for the payg model, was, well pretty much spot on tbh
So its going to be £750 to buy, surely thats bollocks

play.com are not a carrier, cannot bulk buy or do any deals with apple like o2 can.
The phone will never be that much from o2.

I read his post fine the first time, you are giving a high price from one shop as justification of the £750, but it's actually cheaper from the place that phoned him.

I refuse to believe that the lowest spec iPhone 4 will be 3 quarters of one thousand pounds.

I'm hoping it's not as it puts it way out of my price range, I'd go to £550 max with 12 months data(probs no longer unlimited). Anymore I'll pick up one of the now cheap 3gs's.
