Power adapted can mean anything really, so not out of the question to classify a new-gen turbo powerplant as an NEP.

mr joff is rite. the saab engine that the vectra c runs is called the z20nep. the engine codes that end in rer or dtr for diesels refer to the turbo itself and when it works. not very technical on these ones but the 'rer' and 'dtr' are constant adapting vanes or summat like that in the turb that are always spinning-ie not just a certain power band

also, Z16NEP would mean that the car was an 8v, i very much doubt this.
and another thing^^^^^^ hmm. how come 8v engines (newer ones) are x16szr and z16se??
please enlighten me

X = Exhaust emissions (petrol) (EC 91/441/EEC, stage 2#)
16 = Engine capacity (litres, i.e 1.6L)
S = Compression ratio of > 9.5 to 10.0
Z = Fuel mixture system (Central Injection)
R = Increased Output
Vauxhall engine codes don't specifically denote an 8v engine.

but the szr is tellin u it has different ratio to a 16v,it has central injection unlike a direct injection 16v, and it has increased bottom end torque.
x16szr is the 8v. have hassle with egr valve and ecu on them buggers

The SZR only specifies the configuration of that engine, not it's configuration in relation to other engine types.
It might be true that most if not all 8v's have a compression ratio between 9.5 and 10, but you shouldn't assume it's an 8v just because of this.

i dont assume its an 8v-i know it is!!!
u just remeber the engine codes when u work with em all day

I think bubblevaux is getting his engine info from Total Vauxhall April issue. The Vectra SRi Turbo in the April edition has the Z20LER but in all the other Total Vauxhall Mags Ive got say it has the Z20NET. So unless vauxhall has started putting a different engine in I think it must be a Typo, but I could be wrong.
Also I just noticed that Total Vauxhall says the 1.9TD in the new astra is also put in the Fiats. Thats two different publications that say GM engines are used in Fiats, just as long as we don't get their quality.

your right they did have a z20net but new ones come out with the z20nep. saab picked up on sum prob and so engine was adapted but only ever so slightly. on tech2 z20net is until 03 chassis,after that its z20nep.a z20ler will use a continuin rotor vane turbo or summat. get engine info from work. most of the time coding changes only affect software and not hardware

What's this plug then?
I found it next to the wiring for the courtesy light when I fitted my electric sunroof.

It's off a Corsa B - ultrasonic/override for the courtesy light panel is still wired in - this wire was something tucked away in the roof lining.

Front - by the passenger sunvisor although there is enough wiring for it to reach to the courtesy light.
