hmm, from what ive read i can see corsa 808's point. He knows his stuff. and how can you map something through a wire thats not there!
But Its obviously changed something. Probably just reset the ecu or something?
I dont know i dont understand electrics. But maybe this should be countinued in u2u format?

you know whats funny, you probably had faults stored on your ECU that have been rectified, by just reseting it thus making it run better, could of got that done for £25

because i wired up your engine management loom and diagnostic port. there is nothing connected to the ecu other than this one wire.
i genuinely believe you have been had mate
er, the brown yellow wire is the negative comm supply to the aldl plug. how do i know this? vaux trained auto electrician. with this connected any EEPROM ecu CAN be re-mapped but only to the lambda width tolerance. the standard software wont be erased, just slightly altered. wont make much difference itll just balance engine out after fitting aftermarket performance parts.
only worth chipping turb cars imo

ask the bloke that did the so called 'mapping' for you money back.
so how has this bloke that did it downloaded a dbilas map onto his ecu?
he hasnt!
how has he raised the rev limit?
he hasnt!
making adjustments on a narrow bandwith lambda will make naff all difference to the way the car drives. this is why you convert to wide band lambda when fitting aftermarket management/ throttle bodies.

no you dont, most aftermarket management still uses narrow band signals, you only use wide band to halp with the mapping to give you a A/F ratio..... some aftermarket management dont even use the lambda i.e. mbe.

as mr monkey said, and you need to remove the ecu, remove a chip and replace it with a mapable version, firstly they dowload the standard info off the cu then put that back on the new programable chip and modify it after soldering the new chip on, they then map it on the rolling or on the road, superchips however can be uploaded with a customer key and no physical modification to the ecu, but the comm port needs to be attached lol! kinda helps
