No pentiums available here, always used AMD but never had any trouble, then again I've never made such a detailed model before

Get that, run the stress testing for a couple of hours if u can.
If it crashes there are hardware problems.

Just spoken to someone in the know, and he's told me that it could be a problem with XP... apprently it's known for XP to load up the memory, then not release it again, which would explain why i can render once or twice, then it'll crash, then be fine again for a minute when I restart.
Run memtest earlier and no errors present.

could down load tuneup utils 2004 and have mem optimizer running in the background see if that makes ne diff

Got an optimizer now, and also switched ram priority from programs to system cache... touchwood its working for now

Might not be the best, but it's working, and it's free, which is all I need....
