Mate has just picked up a Vectra SRi 140, engine runs alright, think there is a slight problem with the AFM but am trying to sort that, but when the engine is running and the switched off there is a strange hissing sound, sounds like it is coming from near the head like pressure being released.

any ideas what it could be?

Does the car have airconditioning? If it does then it will be that and is perfectly normal when the engine is switched off - not sure about turned on though...

hmmm not sure it has it but will check tomorrow. at first i thought it was a vacuum leak coming from the brake master cylinder, but then it came from somewhere else. gonna have another look tomorrow as i swapped him an AFM for a K&N induction cone. that will fit on the ecotec pipe i chavved from a dumped vectra
