mines a 1.4 16v gls think its got a f15cr box in, crap gear ratios i think, 1 to 2 is close, 2 to 3 it drops to many revs but 3 to 4 is close. is the f13 any better?

im using a standard one, and a standard f13cr g/box
loves every second of it
whats the f13 box off, arent most corsa's fitted with f15's?
and also is the gm head gasket up for the job, or would you recommend a sdb one, dave?
standard one is fine, mine was all good running 9000rpm rev limit and 190bhp, the rods tend to fail before the headgasket

okay, thinking of only getting 265 degree cams (so dont need to pocket pistons) will the clearance be enough or will i have to go milder?

just a few last things will prob use a piper cam belt, only £25, but the metal sbd rollers are abit expensive, are there any others on the market, and is the standard tesioners okay?
and the standard fuel pump is fine? don't see why not

SBD rollers are the only ones I have seen. standards will probably be fine, aster speaking to mike at noble motorsport (chief engine builder) he said that he had only ever seen 1 of these engines fail due to plastic rollers breaking up.
as for the tensioner, again standard one is fine but at high rpm, bigger cams and uprated valve springs there is a risk of the tensioner flicking back and destroying the engine. A fixed one is something I will be looking at soon.
16v fuel pump is fine

im prob buying a second hand head polished and ported by Regal, that should be a good job by them with some piper 265's. i wouldnt need uprated valve spring would I? only intending to rev to 7750 max

Erm, I wouldn't touch the head with a barge pole unless it's been bench flowed to show improved flow, the number of heads I've seen that are "flowed" that show lower flow to a std cast head is scarey frankly, only a few ppl seem to be able to get it right.
Spend the money on a std C16XE head, have it acid dipped and 3 angle valve seats cut in, will set you abotu £100 all in and will give a definate improevment in flow over std.

get the c16xe head and spend the cash on rebuilding it. I cant stress how much of a better design they are than the x16xe ones.
spend the money you save on getting the cams dialled in properly, thats where the real gains are

can you expand on 'rebuilding' do you mean porting polishing? can do a 3 angle valves seats done at college, but this head is a resonalbe price £250 with piper 265's but abit suspious bout the work thats been done
i guess a c16xe wont be cheap or easy to find either

iv already got a fse boost valve (no gauge)which every one is saying is crap and to get a webber one, so once your 'set up' using the fse, would the webber one have to to set up again, was i the one i showed you the correct webber one?

use the fse one to set it all up and when you get to the place that is doing the mapping, fit the webber one. until you have a good base map there is no other way to get it running right.
