from what i've seen of videos of the glitches on the ps3, there similiar to those of what you get when you overclock your gfx card too much and dont have good enough cooling...

motorstorm is out in march, and dmc4 is out around august time i have just found out.
that puts motorstorm pretty much in line with graw, and if dmc4 comes out in august then cod3(us release) but if it gets pushed back to around sep/oct then it wont be far off gow

I like the non-dynamic shadows being used during the races on Motorstorm
Surely down to the desginers and not the graphics.
real time shadows require more processing power. It would have been the developers choice to use non-dynamic (blob style) shadows in game. Perhaps to maintain decent frame rates etc..
this is true but surely on a next gen console with the power its supposedly got why are they having to sacrifice decent graphics for frame rate? surely it should pull of awesome graphics with awesome frame rate, same as gears of war
that's the point i was making mate. They should be able to turn all the detail up full tilt and have everything looking nice. Perhaps the final version will have proper shadows. In any case it's a minor detail.

360 lanched with COD, Kameo, PD etc and they looked excellent, that was a year ago, developers have had an extra year to program due to the release dates of the PS3.

well believe it or not the final game will be toned down abit compared to the demo(motorstorm) which is abit worrying they have to do that to a game so early on in a consoles life but i think those screens are of the final version... i would damn well hope so anyway

I remember the link Steve posted with the Madden screenshot comparison along with other games. It didn't look much different and certainly wouldn't be anything to care about whilst actually playing.

Sorry but you don't have a real appreciation of the sort of change the PS3 is then. Its not like a oh we just need to make a few changes to how we code. Its a completely new way of thinking. To get the best out of the PS3 will probably take a couple years.
How many years have console developers been working with multi-core CPUs - not long as a result there are sooo many things to consider in terms of what you get done when by what CPU etc.

But TBH hes right, Sony were expected to release it earlier, so games developers have had longer than they expected to achieve a decent looking product. It seems most only just look the same as the 360

there were rumours about the PS3 being quite hard to develop for and get to grips with.

your right dave, game developers have been commenting on how hard the ps3 is to work with and a pure headache getting the most out of it. the 360 is alot easier to work on but on both the graphics will keep improving over the years, we'll just get it sooner on the 360
