Vista Ultimate will run just as well as Media Centre you say? hmm
Only problem is, I don't want to pay for vista legitimatly, thus meaning I won't be able to get updates from them
Quite happy with mine as it is at the moment tbh, does the job perfectly.

Remember the never ending 30-day trail on XP? Also works on Vista
So far can't say Ultimate has ran worse than MCE, also remember Vista adapts better than Xp so if your computer isnt all that fast it will change things to run better.

This is what I mean. I used to have a dodgy corporate edition of XP and they blocked me from updates and little things wouldn't work like wireless.
Formatted and installed XP home which sorted it.
I'll jsut wait til I get an upgrade and get an OEM copy i think.

from what we saw, it didn't just block updates, it blocked windows altogether, unless thats what you meant . it wouldn't boot normally, only in safe mode

With the 30-Day trial trick everything works fine though because it still thinks its on trial, wpa is fine as is the updates infact just installed one. Had Xp MCE like it for a good 6 months with no probs. Although ofcourse its always better to get it the OEM way
