Yeah, thats why Im unsure if I will or will not go down that route, it really depends on how things progress in the future. And then if I want to be having to upgrade my MoBo aswell as getting another 1 or 2 graphics cards aswell!!

SLi is a piece of cake? Just plug in the cards and load up the drivers and hope to hell your PSU can hack it
Go got an nvidia 7900, this should fit your price range and then you have the option to SLi in the future when you need the power. stretch to an 8800GTS 320MB if you can though, ready for directx 10

my budgets upped 200 quid so far lol....
Thats what I was thinking with waiting for ATI topshot, by that time the 8800's will have dropped a bit and I can find out whether the ATI is a decent card.... + they might have some dx10 games out so I can figure out if the 8800 rates well there.

with all the same spec as I put, but with the 8800 it will cost around £950. But I still havent gone round the shops finding the cheapest prices for each of them yet so could push it down a little me thinks!

yup, you cant keep waiting as something new will always be on the horizon and you'll end up just waiting and waiting.
Aslong as youve got the newest technology (DX10, the Core 2's, etc.) just get those and make the most of them by pushing them harder and just upgrading the cheaper things such as cooling, to improve performance!

Yup, exactly the same. Going to stick with the Asus simpley because I may go SLi in the future, and saves me having to sort wireless out as its onboard with the Asus already.
I might change the memory, but wont go too much over that price of the Crucial.
This is the spec and where its coming from with price...
Case: Lian Li A10 - £167 Eclipse
Power Supply Unit: Seasonic S12 Energy+ 550 - £87.50 Ebuyer
Motherboard: ASUS P5B Deluxe WIFI-AP - £114 Ebuyer
Processor: Intel Core 2 Due E6600 - £182 Eclipse
CPU Cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro - £16.50 Scan
Memory: Crucial 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-4200C4 (CT2KIT12864AA53E) - £85 Ebuyer
Graphics Card: BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 320MB - £193 Scan
GPU Cooler: Zalman VF900-CU - £21 Scan
Hard Drive 1: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB - £54 Scan

Right, ordering time!
Going to get the case first as will be having some work done on it before I build it up, so will give me time to mess with the spec a little and get the best prices.
Cheapest place I can find the case for is £151.56 (128.99 minus VAT) from Overclockers.co.uk. I am having trouble with their site being sooooo slow though so is stopping me ordering from them.
Anyone find it cheaper?!

Ordered. £162.08 from Overclockers inc. VAT and next day delivery. Not bad considering I expected to pay around 3167 minus delivery
