Screen res doesn't matter in the slightest - still a nicer screen than my old PC monitor.
Keyboard will be better on a bigger screen, and isn't 'bad' anyway.
Flash is hardly an issue (for some people).
If you don't want one don't buy one. I want one I'll buy one. Next question?

I'm being misunderstood.
I don't care if people buy them, I buy a lot of things other people wouldn't waste money on.
It's the justifications for the downfalls then apple address some of them next revision and suddenly the features that you spend the past year making excuses for are suddenly crucial.
In addition, if apple ever bring out a product that is actually better than the equivalents I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

I've never complained at the lack of certain features. In fact I don't really think multitasking is 100% necessary. A nice addition, but can do without it much of the time.
Same with flash tbh.

No, this IS a big issue as a lot of the web is flashed based especially any media based websites. Apple are pushing for HTML5 but it's still in its infancy and standards are few and far between - ie: video formats/codecs.
Not including Java was one thing, but i think Apple shot themselves in the foot big time with Flash....

Well the majority of people I know using safari on their iphones would disagree but whatever.
I can honestly say for general browsing I very rarely come across a site using a lot of flash. Seems to me to be video sites (I rarely use anything but youtube so not a problem) or big promo sites.
Day-to-day browsing I rarely come across it.

Flash can fuck off. It's a wart on the fantastically beautiful invention that is the internet. It serves no purpose, apart from displaying videos. Bring on HTML5.

There are thousands of iPhone users (and petitions) who would happily disagree with you (and your mates) about Flash support. And i'm not talking from the sidelines, i’ve had a 2G and 3G and there have been plenty of times when someone says "check out this link" or i need to look at a website and i can't because it's Flash based. It clearly isn't the 'Full Web Experience' that Apple bang on about! In fact it's the complete opposite, with an iPhone/iPad you get a limited web experience....
Plus it's a bit short sighted saying that all Flash sites are either video/grot or 'big promo sites', there are plenty of legitimate flash sites around like interactive teaching/learning sites. I've taught music lessons and having sites like MusicTheory.net on a tablet would be extremely useful in helping the kids and the iPad would be perfectly suited to this type of role.
On another note, if HP gets it right i think the HP Slate could be a real winner!

Why?
HTML5 will never be a 100% alternative to flash, standards are all up in the air and it's a good year or so away before it's anywhere near readily supported like Flash. You also have performance issues especially when Flash can now be offloaded to the GPU.

My flash gripes are mainly performance, it was terrible when we all had 56k.
GPU offloading is very good for HD video.

No flash is the biggest downfall for me then, I would use it on a lot of sites I think, so maybe the pad isnt for me.

I can just about tolerate the 'iPhone' crap, but iPad? Seriously for a home user, what a waste of space. Honestly I can't think of a reason apart from being a total cock (http://www.stephenfry.com/2010/04/01/unpacking-my-ipad/ listen to how excited he is, seriously?) or being an "apple fanboy" to owning such device.

My friend is going out to Canada and can get them for a good price and before the release date over here, but I honestly cannot justify the reason for having one other than the bragging side of things. I just don't see the fascination.

Youtube opens in a separate player, and a lot of sites (review sites mainly) have already switched to providing video over HTML5. Ok, so a lot haven't, but its not like half the internet is missing.
As I say, for day to day browsing, its surprising how little I come across a flash site.
I do think Apple are mainly being awkward by not allowing it, but you have to admit that a lot of flash sites would suck on a touchscreen. Loads rely on tracking a mouse pointer and that just wouldn't work.

With the huge success of the iPhone, and the no doubt success of the iPad, websites will soon all be moving over to using HTML5 over Flash, they will have no other choice tbh in the end.

Again, looks pretty sweet. I personally can't find a use for it. Mainly because I have an Ipod for music and a laptop for viewing porn, I mean computer related stuff

i dont think it will have as much impact as the iphone, everyone prettyu much has a mobile phone so everyone pretty much was in the market for an iphone, this item is far less appealing to the mass market imo
