Both had our employment forms filled in, hopefully should know in the next couple of days if it's ours.
Anyone know what will happen with Council Tax and Utilities, as in will they have a set date to come out or will it be like a calendar month after we inform them we are moving in

When I moved into mine I just waited for the first bills to turn up and told them the date I moved in and got them adjusted.
I think my landlord sorted some stuff though.

Take a meter reading the day you move in and contact the utility companies.
Keep the reading so you can't be overcharged

Take plenty of photos too!
We are currently undergoing legal proceedings with some tenants who damaged the property.
We have photos of it when they moved in, they don't, we win

Great idea, will do that to cover myself!
I've still not heard off the agent so just dropped them a quick email, was hoping to be in for next weekend....

Nice one whittie. Just spoke to the agents, they have the employment forms and credit checks which have both come back fine. They are just waiting on statements from banks. I'm going to chase our banks today if they don't sound like they are pulling there finger out, will just take statements in to agents. Sounds promising!

Cheers Nath. Are you looking to rent or buy (are you living with parents)? We've been planning to move in together for about 6 months but only properely started looking at the end of Jan, it's defo more frustrating looking all the time

I'll be renting I think, but on my own. Being single FTL
Currently living with the folks, who aren't forcing me out or anything. But I REALLY want my own space now.

I've done it on my own before when i was young and reckless! I've literally got about 4 spreadsheets and done months of planning to get this place, make sure you are realistic or it's easy to get yourself into the shit financially/end up being skintos!
I know what you mean though, I hate not having my own space it's poo!

Yeah thats the reason for not pressing ahead with it right now. Just need to carry on saving hard, and make sure it's realistic. I've done a few sums and it should be achievable.

Best thing I ever did. Mum is alright and that but nothing better than having somewhere all to yourself.
Plus cooking for yourself isn't that bad. I've not even taken washing home

Agreed. It's little things like being able to fill the sky planner with what I want, being able to have friends over etc etc. We currently split our time between my mums and her parents and I spend my life lugging clothes between the two places, can't wait to just be somewhere that's our's

Is he working up this way or what (can't think of any other reasons for moving here ). I had my last flat 2 mins round the corner (and grew up 10 mins away) so know the area pretty well, it's 'ok' but is hopefully on the up a bit...

Yeah he spends monday to friday up there.
Think the biggest selling point for him was the number of local golf courses though

Yes we have loads of golf courses around the area even some of the municipal ones are ok
Right, can anyone point me in the direction of a sky code for half price for 12 months?!

After 6 months of moving out, I do miss the old days when I felt mega rich. The feeling of freedom can't have a price put on it though. Would be so painful to move back home again

There's literally nothing worse than moving back home after you've lived on your own, nothing.
