not sure whether to bother with the base, the matress on its own is £700, so £200 for the base.

Could get one made from oak really cheap but could take ages, wouldn't mind storage under the bed to keep my toys

We got a foam mattress from Ikea because springs were pissing me off and keeping me awake.

I much prefer it to springs, however as said, it does get very warm.

Not memory foam btw, just a foam one so doesn't mold to shape at all

I swapped to a memory foam in Aug, I will never go back they are so comfy! not hot in the summer at all!

ordered the one i posted and some memory foam pillows.

the bed is called airflow and isn't solid foam, its a mix of pocket springs and foam, so should be quite cool

yeah all these topper things confuse me, and there are so many different depths also.

got a dormeo today 12+2 silver.. i wasnt very thick so we have just put it on top of our old matress... will see how well it sleeps in a few mins...

TEsco direct have a few good deals. I was looking.

Probably won't fall into the four to five figure sums that everyone else pays for mattresses on here but worth a look.

For those complaining about the warmth issue of a foam mattress...... I had the same issue and I bought a cover to go on top of the mattress that sorts out the warmth and has not been an issue since! Money well spent.
