Gets worse if it's jailbroken, I notice loads of wee bits that aren't quite right once jailbroken.
Root isn't quite the same as jailbreak either.
You can root the phone but it can be completely standard otherwise, a jailbreak isn't the same.

Can you tell me why the alarm won't work on an HTC Desire HD?
It's set but doesn't go off in the morning.
Can you tell me why the alarm won't work on a iPhone 4/4S?
It's set but it just doesn't want to go off

That's just not true, if it's not crashed you must restart it fairly often.

Nope.
In fact, I can't remember the last time I actually switched it off.

Yes shes female. I must see my Mrs drop her 4S everyday, clumsy bitch
Had jailbroken iPhones for 4 years with no problems and probably crashed twice in that time.

This no crashes thing is balls, it doesn't happen every day but it does happen, especially when jailbroken.
This is over various 4 and 4S's btw, not just one.

What happens and what are you doing when it crashes?

Most of the crashes it goes completely black, have to power and home for 10 seconds to reset it.
Jailbroken phones though there are wee bits everywhere. Icons show up white from time to time (done the fixes) some apps start and then close straight away (legit app store apps)
It's definitely not a major problem, I expect systems to crash and it doesn't happen too often, it does happen though.

Yes, I can't actually remember 1 single time that the Desire S I have sitting beside my iPhone has crashed.

Sounds like something is fucked. I'd restore it or take it back to apple, mine doesn't do any of that

I've no reason to defend it, if it crashed more than once a year I'd say it does.
