WWDC is all about the software.
this. Apple hardware release is Oct now, due to sales last time round they won't be changing this anytime soon and as mentioned an 8 month old device won't get replaced yet, yearly they update them, this has been the same ever since the first iPhone/iPad release.
there will be hardware, new mbp imac and mac pro's
Sorry I should have made my post more clear, no iPhones or iPads will be announced.

No the current macbook is not high enough definition for it to be classed as retina. Yes its a high def but no in the realms of retina

Who gives a shit about this retina bollocks, too much emphasis on it tbh. Screens are already decent, rather a better design

Well, yes and no. The high res screen available on the 15" MBP is fantastic and need to be standard on all laptops. Even higher res would be cool, as well as push towards a wider web standard than the current 960 px that seems to be the going rate.
However, from a design perspective, I need to croscheck all my work with a regular res screen as it appears vastly different on my high res MPB. Web- and UI-design on a retina screen could provide some issues I feel.
I would be happy if they kept the resolution as is but improved the colorrange and calibration options. It should be very possible to make a laptop screen that's much better than what we see today.

Same on the pro, new processors, the ivy bridge chipsets come with USB 3.0 so that's not amazing either.

A nice upgrade for the Pro, much much thinner in body + screen (with the retina).

That's more interesting.
Surprised they're putting higher res screens in new products since CS doesn't need higher resolution

The pros are going to really like the specs of the new machine with resolution, power, battery life & connectivity.

I was thinking the same but going for the new air. Not sure its worth it for the USB3 & better CPU though.
Hoping for a Mac Mini update as I want one for the office

The only thing I use USB for these days is USB to serial conversion - slightly overkill for USB3

I run some VMs from a USB3 key, just a shame I can't get the benefit of the USB3 part in the Air at the moment
