Despite certain people slagging Apple off on here, I have to say they are pretty reasonable on pricing when it comes to out of warranty replacements.
You don't really get that with other phone manufacturers as far as I know.
The insurance company will probably send out a refurb anyway so I'd recommend just paying the £60 and getting it done that way.

Well they outcome was she paid the £60 excess and they replaced it with a brand new phone.

True, not only that they make them fairly easy to repair, unlike for example the SGS3, you're looking at £175 for an aftermarket non-gen replacement screen fitted.

Yeah, I've done loads now for about £60 me supplying screens.
Do all the iPhone repairs at work too but obviously don't charge for those!
Can do them in 20mins or so so not a bad earner if can get them.
