you would be able to play it.. but it would run slow.
just wait for the standalone, its supposedly more optimised so lower end pc's have a chance.
you could download arma2free and try it and see how it runs but it wont look great.

we came on the next day to see out stuff stolen, we tracked down 2 of the cars and i got one of the lads who stole the stuff so killed him.

been 2 days now since the Ural (big truck) was stolen, were currently tracking down the BM team as they are the ones who stole it, been tracking them for a couple days now.
just gathering some food, making a camp fire ready for our next encounter lol

ah i think you misunderstood or i didnt explain it properly ..
ive been tracking a certain person or group for 2 days, there are 50 players at a time on the server so coming across people is quite common.

Me and a friend fixed a bus and just started driving through towns picking people . Ended up letting some guy drive cause I got bored, and he led us into an ambush the sneaky bastard!

gutted.
if you want to join a hack free server, you could have a look at Dayzextreme.com, its a whitelisted server with GUID as a requirement which is what i use all the time.
worth a look if your getting fed up of cheaters etc.

if you have a SLI motherboard you can have my SLI 460 gtx's run it at about 60fps.. well you can see from the vids how smooth it runs.
