Stop fucking about with thermal paste and keyboards, and just buy another PSU! 
Honestly, it's a piece of piss to replace. There are just four screws that hold it on to the case, if you're worried take a pic on your phone or whatever of where all the cables go and colours etc. and just match up the style of connectors/cables on the new PSU.
There's probably even loads of videos on YouTube on how to do it.
Buy something like this:

Yeah I took it off to price it up, was easy enough to do, was just trying the cheapest options first il order a psu then, if that doesn't sort it its goin on the skip in work!
