Update: phone is dead
Further update: like a twat I completely forgot that I'd cancelled my insurance in January so now have a broken iPhone and no insurance-Awesome!!
Someone told me about the out of warranty repair scheme at the apple store where essentially, you go in with a broken iPhone and they give you a refurbished handset for £140-anyone know anything further or have any alternative suggestions?

Hi mate, I can look at this for you for the sake of postage. No repair, no charge. if its water damaged ill run it through my tanks at a cost of £15 plus £3 postage. That will be the last way of finding out if its totally screwed.
PM me for a price on any iphones as well.
