FYI Night-vision sucks where its placed.. There is very little illumination here as we're sort of out in the sticks and the IR illumination doesn't quite cut it.. I might have to get a separate IR illuminator.

We've got a big arse PIR flood-light out the front too but unfortunately if someone is going to do something unscrupulous they'll probably avoid setting it off

I was going to maybe suggest a stand alone PIR to put outside in a bit of a blackspot area and then link this to a separate flood light. http://www.screwfix.com/p/lap-180-standalone-pir/36316
Was going to do this in our house to notify us of anybody coming onto our path and still considering it. Will see what the score is!

Or I could just fit an IR illuminator that comes on after dusk?

Just had some POE cctv installed in our sports pavillion, one week in and already seen kids climbing on the roof, and one with his dick out pissing at the camera whilst smiling and winking

Oh yeah I forgot to say its got an internal SD card slot so you can set it up to record locally on a schedule or on movement (or both), or even record to a NAS..
Seems pointless even having an NVR

Davey is talking about an infra-red (IR) illuminator (lamp) to light up the area for the camera(s) 'night-vision', not a motion detection sensor (PIR)

Usually they come with Chinese firmware, so the language is set to Chinese out of the box. Otherwise you chance it and attempt to update the camera with US/UK firmware, if it bricks then it's a fake/grey-import
Was it eBay you got it from? Be interested to hear as i'm looking at some domes but resellers are roughly twice the price of that eBay listing you posted.

Dom I got mine from Aliexpress. Let you know when they arrive. If cameras could notify me that they have recordings on SD card etc then I'm may not bother with NVR but I sit in office at home all day so got screen.
Never heard of IR illumators before!

After playing with the on-board recording I don't think I'd bother! You could quite happily set the cameras up to record locally to an SD card and also to a NAS..
The NVR does however give you the convenience of being able to look at a 'live' display and take advantage of the mobile apps available for the NVR.

but if I get a NAS, how do I then get the pictures from the NAS to a screen? I sit in a home office all day so have 1 monitor on constantly to see outside so its very handy.
We also use the remote mobile apps quite a bit with the HIKvision setup in our shop

The cameras are supported by the EZVIZ P2P service.. but you have to Telnet/SSH into the camera to get the codes..
