I loved mgs until this. It either dosent suit open world or it was badly executed. Apparently the 2nd half is just a repeat of the 1st

I've been stuck on 10% now for about 3 months... really pissing me off. I'm crap at games to be honest. It's not great though, which is a shame as had great potential from the opening level.

Think I'm on Mission 8 now, and I'm starting to think that it may not suit open world - although maybe it's Gary comment that has made me think like this lol. Still loving it, but it can be a bit tedious travelling about the place.
Still a great game.

I just got on to Chapter 2  which is around Mission 31.
Story and games have becoming more gripping.
Amazing game, only thing is i faffed around to much doing side missions which is why i got bored and gave up. Took me ages to figure out how to equip stuff to the Dwalker and the Helicopter also. As i always tried at the right time.
Jumping in and out of the chooper gets annoying when you just wanna fast travel to a location.

Just beat the sniper, 'Quiet,' last night. Enjoying the game even more now as I am becoming more competant.

The sniper was probably the best mission I've played, bar the first one.
Extracting this vehicle on mission 10 is driving me fucking insane though.

Get to the compound, position jeep at exit, climb over the fence, attach a balloon to truck and run to jeep and drive!
Honestly think its the hardest mission and im on about mission 24

Problem is I've been shit with tech so haven't got the right level for extracting vehicles yet. I've just gone back and started doing more with research but haven't got enough higher graded staff  guess I need to go back to base or something. I hate being forced to go backwards!

Which is hard as its the hardest mission on normal difficulty in the entire game i found.

Got all the leveling done now... just need to find a transport specialist! Googled it and turns out the easiest way is back to mission 10 to save one lol. At least I'm getting somewhere.

You don't have to do the extreme missions to complete the game though. I didn't bother doing any of them.
You just need to do all the missons and listen to all the tapes that have yellow dots next to them.

Finished it on Friday night. . . just kept doing normal side ops till they appeared.
Last Mission was rubbish playwise. . . story ending was good/ok.
Chapter 1 of game amazing!

This is frustrating... can anyone explain?
I went back to mission 10 to get the transportation specialist. Completed it (extracted all 3 hostages) and went to build the next fulton device. Unfortunately it stated that my R&D had dropped 2 levels so I went to boost it back to 18. Done that, went back to fulton device manufacturing and suddenly the transportation specialist had disappeared!  so annoying, it seems to always be one step forward and two steps back with this damn game.

Nope I'm on mission 16 where I need to extract a vehicle (tried doing it without - impossible)
In order to extract it I need to level up my fulton device. The only way to do this is with a transportation specialist. The easiest way to get one is to play mission 10 back and save the hostages (one of which is a transportation specialist)
I did this, saved them all... and he showed up as being part of my team for a while. But then he disappeared! I guess I'll just try it again but it took me like an hour and I can't be bothered to keep wasting my time.

Nearly a year later and I'm still going with this game
I'm now on mission 31 - Sahelanthropus.
Got to the final part of the fight so many times... shoot the floating boy, but then he fires his laser at me and it's game over. Once! I managed to hide behind a rock and avoid it, but then he got me the next time.
I've just come so far with this now I cannot give up lol.
