Went and had a play with the new one today, can't say I was that impressed. Screen was nice but having wandered in and accidentally played with an iPad 2 first, the difference wasn't anything special.
Underwhelming tbh.

It's definitely a case of if you have an iPad 2 it's not worth upgrading. But if you had an iPad 1 it'd be worth it. Or if you didn't have an iPad at all you might as well get the new one

I do have an ipad 1 and wouldn't say for me its worth it.
I was considering it, but after having a go I'm not bothered.

Managed to get one for £360 + around 3% cashback from comet - dodgy deal via hotdealsuk. Seems ok so far (haven't had one before), couple of issues though:
Is there an easy way of having a jpg in your signature other than paying for some shit app?
Any way of altering the keyboard so it shows clearly if it's lower case or upper case like with every other mother fucking touchscreen keyboard!

yeah i may well do... russ' suggestion that it may be worth £250 at the end may well be swayign me
(altho it turns out we arent allowed the discount for another 2 months to allow "customers" to get their hands on the new ipad first...)

16gb 3G originals are still worth more than £250. If they stick with the same for factor for the next couple of generations as well that will help it keep it's value

no, needs to be one that works on capacitive screens.
I got some from ebay for a few quid that we use to draw site plans.

I just meant surely it can be any old stylus that works on an iPad, it doesn't necessarily have to be that Bamboo one for £25.

Been busy picking up a few new iPad's for friends and myself in America. I have gone for a 3G version this time as I was sick of tethering and ending up with a flat iPhone and a flat iPad. New one seems pretty much the same as my old one. Bit of a underwhelming update tbh, I am glad I did not pay UK prices for it!
