righto...
Planning permission has been granted for the garage (despite bitter compaints and shit stirring from our lovely neighbours accross the lane). Just waitig for building warrants etc and some more quotes.... more reasonable quotes!
Started stripping all the woodwork in the hall. We had planned this for a while but just repainted it white from the 'old lady cream' when we moved in to freshen it up. Pain in the arse is an understatement with all the detail in the door frames and skirtings!
It should be worth it in the end though. Fee can maybe post some progress pics, as i took some earlier but didnt take em off the camera.

Nitromors is a beast!
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

I SOOOOO want some of those, our Joiner has them
dose not matter to much any more were your rads go if you do your heat loss canculations correctly you should see the same sort of results + your windows r the biggest source of heat loss, but saying that people still like ther rads under the windows

We dont have any rads under windows..... a window is a focal point of a room and a radiator is pretty ugly!

My Dad has some paint stripper that is brushed on, then a special paper is put on it, you can use a credit card to get it into the corners, then leave it half an hour then pull off the paper and it takes all the paint with it. It's meant to be loads better than the Nitromors too.
But looking really good and you can't beat the sting of the stuff when you splash it on your arm haha

Love that decking.
Could you not of taken the doors off and had them dipped to strip the paint? I know you'd still have to do the skirtings yourself but saves a bit of time on the doors

it was an option, but i've seen the state of some doors that have come back from dipping. Really hared up, and a bit rough looking. A lot of prep would still need done.

no picture update..
Doors in hall are done. Stripped, bleached, stained.
Just need to refit all the door handle and lock trim bits. Sand the floor and re-varnish it again.
Nearly there with my 'engine room' Its got some big shelving units, power and lights.... and engine stand - with an Impreza block on it
EDIT: Will get some pics up soon
