I was just checking over things ready for fitting Tuesday/Wednesday given the weather is good.
Looking at my braided hoses, how do i ensure that the little hole in the bolt lines up with the hole coming down in the hose?
(sorry its a bit hard to explain)

you mean on the bit that goes in the caliper?
it wont matter, as the nut will have a cut around in it, so the fluid flow's around it to the hole it need to go into

Started to fit the brakes today, but bugger me i came into so many problems
Firstly got confused to hell fitting the pads But 40 minutes later i had them fitted. So did the other calliper while i knew what i was doing
Anyways, got the 1.2 callipers off and have got my hose clamped. But i have rounded off the top nut on the brake hose as it wouldnt come undone So i need a new brake line now apparently
The other hose has come undone and so ive left it sort of on.
Just wanting to know how hard it is going to be to replace this metal brake line as it goes in behind my engine
Also how do i stop the brake fluid from pouring out when replacing the hose for my braided one as i cant clamp the braided hose..........can i? Nor can i clamp above the bit where the hose attaches.
Thanks for any help.
Marc.

Marc, I don't know about the metal hose (mine was very tough, which is why I didn't change to my braided hoses yet.)
As for clamping the hose, I didn't bother when fitting my V6 callipers - I removed the reservoir cap, put a bit of clingfilm over the top and did the cap back up to create a vacuum, still had a bit of spillage but not too bad at all, then just bled the system again.

Excellent Thanks Tom.
Bit of a bummer about the metal pipe as i hadnt planned on messing it up like i have
Just makes the job longer than it already has taken. Ill get there though.
Thanks for help x

QUESTION REGARDING BRAKE HOSES - 21-3-08
On the calibra calipers there appears to be a block which stops the brake hose from rotating round - circled in the picture below
But my goodridge hoses are round on the ends
So how does this not spin around? Or does it not matter?
Any help is muchly appreciated. Youve all been so helpful so far, im very grateful
Marc x

as long as your new bolts on your goodridge hoses are tight they shouldn't spin anyway.

Brakes are 'done'-ish. See progress thread from sig.
Need to do rear hoses but will be sorted soon.
I just have a couple of questions.
The pedal atm touches the floor when i brake and there is NOTHING there well, there is a tiny bit of brake at the very bottom.
Im guessing i need to re-bleed them
Also my calipers rub on 60-70% lock either way under 14's (sxi alloys)
Thanks for any help. Marc.

Yep thats right, will just need bleeding up again. They won't feel 100% till they have been used a bit anyway.
