Erm I think it is, currently got a Quadro FX 1800 in? (I know it ain't a gaming card, work gave me the desktop so it came with it  .)

Yea it was me.
You need to find some people you know, finding and then trusting someone you dont know is hard lol. You can talk to people online using Direct Connection (press '.') and then Caps Lock is transmit. It sends your voice out 50m from your character so best sneaking up in someone and hiding in a bush when trying to make contact. Becareful tho, anyone within 50m will hear you talking.
You could put a thread up asking to join an already established group, they normally use teamspeak to communicate tho.
If your on tonight ill meet you in Kamenka (south east corner) ill come pick you up in the helicopter and give you some guns, food, drink etc. At least you will have a fighting chance at surviving. We have loads of akm's, winchesters, m16s etc so you can have one of them.

Its all server dependant but normally you start with a backpack, bandage,painkillers and a flashlight
you spawn at the coast and thats it lol

Starting up is a piss take, I usually head north to zelenogorsk or to balota airfield/cherno and hope to find some gear. Hell of a lot easier if you have friends.

private hives are seperate from public hives, you cant transfer items/characters between them.

Yea i still play it, just got back into it myself.
I only play on dayzero now (dayz but tweaked)
You have to be whitelisted and guid checked to stop hackers.. Excellent servers.
They have edited all the crap out of standard dayz like the combat system, infection is gone now, it runs on average 20fps better than normal dayz and practically zero hackers.
Only problem.. The ppl who play on this server are top tier gamers, sacriel, frankie, jack frags, psisyndicate, dyslexi etc etc. its also more pvp orientated than standard dayz so its quite shoot on sight but tbh, you get that everywhere.. But most leave you alone if your unarmed.

I enjoy DayZ. Not played in a while though.
To be honest, some hackers are funny. Some guy was in a bus teleporting around, telling them to get in or he would kill them. Most people complied, the others... That was hilarious!

I remember 1 hacker got a skin which looked like jason vorhees and he went round with the axe with god mode on hacking people up. Funny as fuck.

I like making bases with people to be honest. We once had a huge base at Cherno docks (it was right on the end). Block it off completely and its a great base place. Sniper wars with people in Cherno
