Front garden looks loads better and far more presentable, less hassle for future owners to keep under control too which is a plus.

Agreed, definitely a worth while exercise (doing the front garden). Seeing those pictures would make me question moving, so much effort and finished to a really high spec. Although needs must, sure you can make the next place just as nice

stress stress
Quite a bit of interest an offer yesterday that we would have accepted had someone else not called back during the process. May set a closing date depending what happens today.
Also got interviewed and pics taken for local papers 'Life Style' section on Friday

just accepted to offer we got yesterday morning :S Happy with it but pretty unhappy with our solicitor as a whole.
We got what we said we'd take before we put it on the market - and basically had it sold after 2 working days.
The folk with the house we want to buy isnt playing ball though We've offered about 20k below valuation (which in my opinion is over valued) but they want 10k more. Its been on the market for a few months so they may change their tune at somepoint.

Remember when my flat was sold in a day advertised around 10% below valuation. Wasnt bothered because the one I was buying was reduced as well. People just need to come & go, if they dont then they wont sell.

we're offering 4% under a seemingly inflated valuation.
We'll just hangfire for now see what comes up for sale in Jan.

Is this a really nice area you live in AK or are Scottish house prices generally high?

nice area, nice 'style' houses. Victorian, high ceilings etc etc - same as current place. 5-10min walk away.
We could get this for the same price but its just not my cup of tea... no doubt we'd like it but it just would feel the same. I love the high ceilings!
this is city centre but not so nice an area

this is also same price and city centre...
and £495k

it's not rocket science that a house in a city centre (of which it is a large city) is going to worth a lot more than houses further out.
*but*, the same sized house in the centre of london would cost a lot more.
