Think I'm gonna order this!
http://www.futurelooks.com/asus-vh242h-24-inch-169-lcd-monitor-review/
not sure where to put it in my room, but it's ideal.
I'll have xbox 360 and my macbook plugged into it. Then I can use my macbook to stream tv or as a media centre for my room.
Even contains internal speakers Just need a stereo in to mic lead.
£160

I think there are some small differences which have made it a much better game.
Handling on this one is far more realistic than it's ever been.

Chris is a total hero on that live for speed on the PC, I tried it and it made Forza look like ridge racer handling wise

Yeah but don't you need a proper pedal setup and steering wheel for that?
I like that game I downloaded the demo but trying to play it with a joystick was always going to be a massive FAIL

yeah i was using a keyboard and absolutly hated it! I can see it being good if you put the effort in, but thats why i like forza as i think it has a spot on balance between realism and being fun and easy to pick up!

Sorted out the times so it is fastest first etc.
We can do this in the same point scoring as the weekly race league.

I may buy this for the Xbox to see what times I can do. On the other one I found that if you do it fully unassisted (Manual gears, no abs, tcs etc) that you could actually go quicker. A gentle progressive jab on the brakes slows you down quicker. Also, faffing about in a practice race, using the telemetry to find out exactly when the best time to change gear is helps. I was pretty sad

Yep, softly using the brakes is a much better idea.

Takes a while to get used to the technique behing 'non abs' breaking. First time I tried it i went off on the first bend!

Ah the first few tracks I was on, I'd just skid straight off Sometimes actually helps the turn in to get a wee bit of lock.

Yeah but Chris knows I'm a live for speed fan, and I've told Chris I like the handling in Forza 3.
I just feel it's a lot better than forza 2. It's not perfect, but it's a good compromise between realism and gameplay!
The fact you can lift off mid bend and if you stay off the throttle you'll spin out is quite realistic. The car's feel a lot more controlable this time, where as in forza 2 I never really felt in control... things were quite unpredictable.
I may have to get a wheel though for forza 3.

Anyone else find if you do the same track over and over (i.e. Silverstone ) you get yourself into a hole and get worse and worse?

what technique are you using for your hotlaps?
because when i ran the GT5 league which lasted abut 12 months i think, i used to have a technique for getting fast, and consistent times.

^^ you're thinking about it too much.
I just find i end up zoning out, so I'm not the one playing the game anymore and the time's just get better and better... then as soon as I start thinking 'oh i need to brake later, or push harder' i screw it up as I'm taking over too much.
