What has the Ipad done?
I think it's too early to tell how popular it will be long term.
Price will have a lot to do with it though. An iPhone is expensive but contracts made it seem cheaper to people. How many people would go out and buy it payg for example? Not a lot.
If the ipad is too expensive when it's released here it might struggle if it's popularity doesn't take off.

If America is anything to go by, its already doing very well over there.

In fact the full report has had an update to say that resellers haven't been told of the prices, so this lot seems to be making it up....

iPad arrived this morning and was pleasantly surprised.
Its actually smaller then I thought, not particularly heavy and extremly well made.
Ive not gone into too much depth yet (as im still at work), but ripped a HD movie down to the correct format/resolution and it looks stunning.
Tried a few apps and games and they also look very impressive.
First thing I did this morning was jailbreak it

id love one but the lack of flash is too much of a negative factor when its main use would be internet.

tbh even Microsoft have come out and said HTML5 is the way forward, and with 1,000,000 being sold already before it even goes on sale in the rest of the world its only a matter of time before sites start using it to be compatible with the iPad and iPhone - as I said a while back in the other ipad thread.

That was always happening, it has sold an impressive amount for a device nobody needs though.
Hopefully the antitrust lawsuits will slow them down a bit, lawyers finally picking on somebody other than microsoft for a change.
