The iPhone has looked the same for years. Samsung bring out 1 phone that's similar to the last and its all kicking off!

I wouldn't say that. The whole S* range have been very similar. Each year they have just got more rounded and bigger. There have been no major design changes.
The reason people mention it is because so many people mention that the Apple phone looks the same, but don't mention that actually its an industry thing

Can you remember when the first mobile came out with a camera (think it was a Nokia 7250)? Everyone was like, "wow that's so cool I gotta have one!".
Maybe I'm just being too cynical, but there isn't much of a wow factor with new phones these days - iPhone included.

Agree - Form factor dead and buried, mostly specs are too, its all just more of the same with maybe 1 new bit of tech (but nothing ground breaking)
Software is starting to become a bit too silly with features really bigged up which are barely used i.e. Siri on the iPhone, Dual Camera on the S4 etc.
Occasionally there are really nice features like the cameras that take X shots instead of the 1 and pick the one with the best smile etc

I've been saying this for a while now.
The fact that a geek like me can stick with the same phone three years at a time proves the phone market is pretty stagnant.
We used to be able to dream about phones with internet, colour screen, camera, WiFi... Now? Can't think of a thing I miss...

There's only so much you can do with a rectangular object with one button on the front I guess

Looks cheap as fuck, as plasticky and shit as the S3 and is absurdly massive... therefore people who buy it and mock iPhone's etc. remain possibly the stupidest people on the planet.

absolutely, there is the iPhone... maybe the S3 (if you like huge cheap plasticky looking crap) and an occasional 1 or 2 others... very little going on these dfays, maybe cos they are so advanced there is little they cna do that wont render the phone not affordable or perhaps tablets etc. are distracting the old style innovation. odd

Samsung Galaxy S3S
Glad they've put a high res screen on it, after my eyes being spoilt with 'pixeless' screens for 2 years the S3 screen was a backwards step.
Innovating for the sake of innovating though with more useless features that only serve to clutter up the UI, drain battery and add to the endless myriad of settings on settings.
Touchwiz still looks drab, needs a refresh, been the same since gingerbread (not a problem if you're a L33T H4XOR and want to mess about chainging the operating system).
And photos with sound...

Samsung are clearly marketing the shit out of this thing, isn't that what Apple used to get drilled about.

Have to say I am slightly suprised by that chart. If anything IMO it shows that the Marketing is badly failing.
I would say I am more aware of more advertising around Microsoft than Apple but I would have put Samsung below both of them.

If you're only concerned about appearances like you oRbbo
I agree with what's said though; there are no ground breaking new phone. On the flip side there are much more decent phones to choose from now. I want neither an iPhone or a Galaxy, but the new Lumia 920 looks interesting and the Xperia Z has had surprisingly excellent reviews.

Because Apple have never done that

Going by that opinion I would have thought Android would be quite fitting for you, considering the amount of bullshit you spout

Again, you can blame Samsung dicking around with Touchwiz; it's got nothing to do with Google and stock Android
