It's just because suddenly you all have 360's they are the best thing on the planet and have forgotten about the equally bad press the 360 got at first.
in a years time the ps3 could be just as good as a 360, but its just been launched and as you point out its had a similar start that the 360 had, crap games, faults, impossible to get hold of one etc..
that gives sony enough time to sort out the glitches and game developers to get the hang of the complex and difficult to use software.
i think if you had a 360 now for a week and a hd tv, and 5.1 surround sound you to would love like most 360 owners, and the same could be said if you got a ps3 when the online feature was alot better and there were more games for it aswell

You were told about a parts warranty, not about controller replacement policy.
And working for a sony retail store isn't quite the same as wrrking for sony ps3 team.
Find where I said the ps3 is a better console.
All I have ever done was stop you talking out of your arse.
Lots of people, not just you, seem to take offence to that.

I'm sure even John would agree that a console that a) costs that much and b) boasts Blu Ray High Def DVD features should come bundled with the necessary cables to allow you to use these features.

then why do you pretend to know so much when TBH you have little experience of them? i have used both, i shall be buying a PS3 in 2 weeks which i shall sell.
If the 360 is so shite why does it have such a massive following? i dont think sony realsied just how bigger lead MS will have come spring/summer

I couldnt give a shite about a 'PS3 Team'. If the shop i bought/will buy it from wont exchange the controller due to PARTS failure (yes the battery comes under parts warranty for 1 year) Then i have to go and buy a new controller. end of.

I don't agree dave.
Yes it would be better if it came with all the cables you need, especially with it costing so much.
A large number of electronics don't come with everything you need though so you can't really call that a flaw.

the 360 has been out for a while now and all those little bugs/problems have been ironed out. It's the same with any new next gen console.
Not being able to download things on the fly isn't a flaw. This can get ironed out. Having to plug up your wireless pads so that the PS3 recognises them isn't a flaw, more a minor annoyance.
Not coming with the necessary cables to enjoy HD gaming is a flaw.
The question is will Sony do anything to rectify all of this? MS have done such a good job with their updates and have actually been listening to the users and taking their rants onboard.

i think its comments like this 'know it all attitude' that piss people off.
I will admit the 360 has flaws, but come on at least you dont need to buy extra cables, or plug the wireless pads in first pisstakers

You can't market something with a high selling point such as Blu Ray playback and not bundle vital components with it.
That's like me selling a car saying it's a good runner but actually has no engine ffs.

I have never said either console is better than the other.
All I have ever commented on is when people slate the ps3, 99% of the time with totally incorrect information.
I'm sure I have said more than once however that the 360 may end up being the victor, although personally I think they will end up even.

DVD players come with scarts so you can watch DVDs.
I imagine HD DVD players will come with the necessary component/hdmi leads.
Fridges and microwaves come with power cables so you can plug them in
The 360 came with an HD cable, even at a time when HD was just about taking off.

what info is incorrect then john:
1. PS3 comes with HD cables?
2. Online play has many issues - more than MS had with live
3. Controller batteries cannot be changed
4. Wireless pads - need plugging in for the console to recognise

That list shouldn't even exist. Sony should know better imo and they should have taken a leaf out of MS's book re the pads.
