Think about it - if it needed doing, then Vauxhall would have done it.
. this is the same for the throttle bodys/inlet and exhaust manifolds/air box's/ cylinder heads/exhaust system under the car/

Seriously, look how much of the radiator is underneath the air intake:

There is no need whatsoever to heat shield it.

Anyway, on to something that actually MAKES sense:

Guess where the resonator used to be

And here's what you'll be left with once you're done

A macro shot of the marvellous engineering handywork, I hope it lives up to Mr. Valver's expectations.

I think that it's given me a flatspot though, I don't know what rev range for lack of an actual rev counter, but I was going up the dual carriageway last night with full throttle, there was not much more noise than normal and virtually no acceleration, then randomly it got really loud and started pulling and accelerating.

Iirc Chris Gilley was saying about taking the cold air feed off, imo it makes it sound like the exhaust is blowing, so I put it back on, and I thought it felt smoother when it was back on. A flexible induction kit style pipe might be worth considering though to replace it.

my god what a stupid comment.
if vauxhall put a performance head, 4 branch manifold, mad inlet manifolds and throttle bodies:-
A) A 1.2 corsa would do 20mpg
B) A 1.2 corsa would cost 20K new
C) A 1.2 corsa would have a very high insurance group
D) WTF

no why would vauxhall bother putting on an extra £250 on there list price for the cost of an airfilter? and they design them for quiteness as well.

Honda, Vauxhall, what's the difference?

That's the most irrelevant link I have ever seen in my life.

if you drill holes in the airbox you will not be able to get a pressure fed airbox from behind the front grill, because the pressure will be lost out though the drilled holes in the airbox, also you can use a pressure fed airbox from behind the grill for carbs as well, at 60 mph there is about 10 bhp and at 120 mph there is about 20 bhp because of the pressurizing effect / mini super charger, also any vauxhall spi injector will fit in the throttle body, when i took the cat off i had to put in the cav 1.8 injector, also you can make your own variable tps sensor just plastic weld it

the idea of ram air is to get a 120mph pressure/velocity at 60 mph so as you go faster there is more pressure, rough guess 240 mph pressure/ velocity at 120 mph on the road

OH MY FUCKING GOD
I've told you before i've done the calculations, a 2 litre car driving at 160mph will have an increased intake pressure of only 0.2psi which might give you 1bhp if you are lucky. fuck sake stop making up shit with nothing to back up your statements.

i think he is using bike terminology... Basicaly bikes with ram air have obviously a area of the front which channels the air into a collector box which in turn helps pressurise the air intake giving you the affect of a turbo pressuriseing the intake system.. Now if that could be made into then it would be good but its confusing what he's saying lol
